I would even take it a little further and call it the widening gap between the primitive "I" and the "I" that I find myself portraying in today's complex, technical world. Our link to nature or natural things is a our "ground zero" in our primitive area of the brain and anything that allows us to escape to that will be attractive to us.
People often talk about wanting a more creative life. I think this is a metaphor for wanting to be closer to nature. To use our hands, our bodies and our minds together. Isn't that why online communities are working? A virtual joining of hands to reunite with our primitive tribal status?

The bigger the societies we live in, the more separate we become from our common man, the more we yearn after "real". Real contact, real emotions, real friendships, a real stone or tree. If games are on the way to doing this and we can use this power in how people and organisations (the modern tribe) talk to each other, then we are probably on to something big.
Kevin - JGKevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15487255988354080840noreply@blogger.com
