Presidents4hire

In a follow-up to what my colleague, Pontus, posted a few days ago, I think it is interesting to look at how presidential hopefuls have used mass communication channels throughout history - from the first televised debate between Nixon and Kennedy to the most recent use of viral interactive media.

I suggest therefore that you take a look at 4President, an on-line TV advertising archive that dates back to presidential advertising campaigns from the early 1950’s. Since the next president of the United States will likely be chosen in part because of his ability to out-advertise his opponent, understanding how these campaign use TV and other forms of mass communication is an important lesson for all of us in this field.
